Hocus Bogus Publishing, Aqui Comienza El Mar

This publication follows the path of one of the many subterranean waterways hidden under the streets of one of Europe's buzzing cities.

It contains a field recording made during a walk in October 2023; crossing through the city of Barcelona.

Several participants traced boardwalks and textures that were found on the way from the Carmelo hill towards the seaside.

Beside the audio, there is a magiczine booklet, foldout cassette box with texts, images and a QR code to listen to the sounds digitaly.

The project was inspired by the situationalist practice of psychogeography and the frottage sessions that artist Sari Dienes did in the 1950's

in New York City. A poetic reproductive copying of what lies under our feet and is hidden from our everyday plain view.

The project was a joint venture between Urbild Editions (Barcelona) and Hocus Bogus Publishing (Rotterdam).

Anemone, Lichens of the Pacific Crest

Stories of people encountered while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, paired with photos of lichen. Thoughts on growth, community, landscapes, being out of the usual routine, and walking 30+ kilometers a day for months.

BEK, Al-Mashrou'  – A conversation between Shuruq Harb and Samira Makki

Al-Mashrou' – A conversation between Shuruq Harb and Samira Makki is an interview between Samira Makki and Shuruq Harb about Harb's film "al-Mashrou'". The interview discusses the film's themes, the process of making it, and the historical and political context surrounding the project. It also touches on broader topics like documentary filmmaking in Palestine, the concept of archives, and the idea of interrupted futures.

"Al-Mashrou'" is a film commissioned by Kunstnernes Hus and is co-produced by BEK for an exhibition in November 2025. Entitled "Interrupted Futures", the show will focus on the complex history and present of the Arab Development Society (ADS), a proposal for an independent Palestinian future that has been continuously obstructed.

Shuruq Harb is a Palestine-based artist, filmmaker, writer, and editor. In her works she focuses on online visual culture, and traces subversive routes for the circulation of images and goods. She received the award for best short film at Cinéma du Réel festival in Paris for her short film The White Elephant (2018). Harb won the 2019 Han Nefkens Foundation – Fundació Antoni Tàpies Video Art Production Grant, which provides an international platform for emerging video artists.

Joey Chin, Swimmers

Swimmers, by Joey Chin, is a poem based on the emotional liberation through swimming. The water offers acceptance and escape from judgment, while the shore symbolizes reality and belonging that feels distant and performative
