Tricia Treacy

Tricia Treacy is an interdisciplinary artist and educator raised in an Irish American family whose experimental and collaborative practice spans the fields of publishing to participatory projects. She attempts to blur the boundaries between art and design while extending the notion of a book. Her work is narrative and tactile, and should be experienced with hands, slowly. Her work invites us to look at the structures that shape our world, stillness, notions of privacy, the grids that underlie our buildings and landscapes, maps and patterns that emerge through sound and touch, the interconnectedness between humans and non-humans.Tricia is a recipient of a Project Grant from the Center for Craft Creativity and Design, a Rome Prize in Design from the American Academy in Rome, and Women in Design Biennial Award in the Researchers Category for Association Italian Design of Visual Communication. Her work has been exhibited widely and is in international collections. She is an Associate Professor of Print Media and co-chair of the Studio Art department at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
