Caroline Kierulf

I am an visual artist based in Bergen, working mainly with printmaking, woodcut, linocut and artist books. To the exhibition I want to show my latest artist book (2024). It is a handmade book in the size 25 x 25 cm and 64 pages. All pages are printed with colors in several layers in a combination of Lino, woodcut and monotype. The texts in the book consists of 20 sentences selected from "All Women's Magazine" from 1939-1943. The small fragments of text taken from the magazine reveal expectations about gender roles and everyday life 80 years ago. I have also made an edition of 10 digitally printed copies (in lesser format) of the original artist book that will be available for sale.
