Annee Grøtte Viken will read an extract from a chapter called The Bath and (the hot and never tepid) Privacylover from her recent book The Domestic Encyclopaedia. The Domestic Encyclopaedia is a collection of stories that explore the material body of architecture, of houses. In the midst of ongoing ecological disaster and increased alienation from nature it invites you to travel beyond the screen, to practice attention and probe the nature of domestic space. Grøtte Viken will read to a soundscape produced in collaboration with composer and musician Marthe Belsvik Stavrum.

Watch the bathroom merge with mountain streams, kitchens sizzle on sandy beaches and a bedroom drift into a nocturnal choreography. Let them seep underneath your door. Welcome home.

In the sauna Grøtte Viken presents the sound installation 'The Bath and The (Hot and Never Tepid) Privacylover’ in two versions, with and without voice. The piece is part of a series of soundscapes that have been composed for seven domestic spaces found in the book ‘Domestic Encyclopaedia’. Each space is explored through sound and is a collaboration between artist and writer Annee Grøtte Viken and musician and composer Marthe Belsvik Stavrum.
