Ylve Thon

Ylve Thon’s practice combines traditional techniques and experimental approaches, with a focus on artist books, painting, fresco, printmaking, writing and drawing. The artistbooks function as a free space where process, text, and image meet, often realized through risoprint and letterpress. Here, she explores the relationship between craft, narrative, and concept, while also investigating how art and life inevitably intertwine.

Painting and fresco form a central part of her practice, ranging from detailed, handcrafted murals to more experimental painterly expressions. Throughout her practice, Thon combines craftsmanship with a free, artistic exploration of diverse themes, maintaining a consistently experimental and genre-crossing approach, with color as a unifying thread across all media.
