The images are accompanied by a text by Økland on turbulent Western Norwegian family relations. It also contains a conversation between the artist and the curator and art historian Helga Nyman, discussing the project in the light of Norwegian art history, climate crisis and family relations.
Minutiøs Forlag is an artist-run independent art book publisher established in Oslo in 2025 by Maya Økland. Minutiøs Forlag aims to offer artists a transparent platform for the production and distribution of art books. The profile is centered on creating a discursive arena for politically engaged art works within the fields of contemporary art, queer feminist expressions, social criticism and work to increase resilience against violence and discrimination. At the same time Minutiøs Forlag is a place for the development of artistic quality and subversive book design and printing within environmentally friendly production. The publisher sees its publications as art experiences and human rights expressions in book format, with an emphasis on conveying visual expressions.
