Eirik Brekke, "The Plateau-Pictures from Hardangervidda"
Hardangervidda is Northern Europe’s largest high mountain plateau, covering 8 000 square kilometers. If you stand in the middle of the plateau the view is almost infinite in all directions. You will see rivers, large lakes and weathered mountains. As a photographer, I have imagined the large, mighty plateau almost as a stage that people use.
After many of the photos were taken, restrictions have been introduced on human traffic on parts of the Hardangervidda. This is to protect the wild reindeer herd that has been on the plateau since the last ice age.
The photobook “The Plateau-Pictures from Hardangervidda” was published by Journal-photobooks.com in 2025.
