Risofort / SofortBooks

SofortBooks is a Hamburg-based small-scale publishing outlet. Tied to our own print studio Risofort, we work on books from start to finish, printing and producing everything in-house. This reflects our DIY practice and gives us more detailed control over the publications we want to make. The foundation of our publishing output is a democratic share of risks and gains with the artists we collaborate with, resulting in a shared planning, production and release process that we call “50:50:50”—meaning that we equally split artistic, publishing and production labor, as well as the material costs of making books, and the finished edition. The artists we work with come from variety of fields, mostly sharing an experimental approach to artistic production, working rather process-oriented and with a multitude of tools and skillsets.

Risofort is our print studio, also based in Hamburg. We work together as a collective of 3 people, producing postcards, art prints, zines & books and everything in between.
