Nordic Letterpress Network

The Nordic Letterpress Network was established in 2021 with several aims to promote Letterpress printing in the Nordic Countries. The group: Angie Butler | Camilla Gunnar | Edward Johansson | Imi Maufe | Carl Middleton | Lina Nordenström have met twice, once in Sweden (2022) and once in Finland (2023) on short residencies based in Letterpress print studios. At BABF we will show work letterpress bookworks by the group members and invited guests. The Aims: To identify the use of letterpress in the Nordic Countries and create a freely accessible online resource – listing letterpress practitioners, studios and print workshops. Yet to be launched. To facilitate connections and knowledge exchange between artists, printers, designers and members of the public. To build an understanding of the letterpress process, sharing best practice, ideas, and working towards a more sustainable, innovative and culturally successful discipline. We want to showcase both innovative practice and heritage craft within letterpress printing in the Nordic regions. In doing so, to discover the role this process and studio facilities can play in our contemporary culture.
